If you haven't got Cutthroat Shamrock's new CD, " The Wake, " what the hell are you waiting for ? These guys kick ass. Both of their full length studio CD's, the eponymous EP, and the bootlegs are all well worth having. If you are in the Knoxville or Sevierville/Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area see where and when they are playing live and check them out ! You can hear them online at their myspace music page,
http://www.myspace.com/cutthroatshamrock , where there is also a link to download " The Wake. " It costs about $10.00. What a bargain !
Also check out PPNOM.org to purchase both volumes of " Lafitte's Return, " the pirate music compilation from which the proceeds go to music education in New Orleans.

Al Barr Interview.
A guy who visited my knoxdkm.com site gave me the URL for a good Al Barr interview. It's pretty short, so don't worry about not having time to check it out.
It is here:

Thank you Daniel S.

Shitecasts.
A couple of years ago I discovered shite 'n' onions, the web magazine of Celtic punk. Through www.shitenonions.com I was introduced to some great bands. Now I have found another benefit of shite 'n' onions, a thing called shitecasts. They are like Celt-punk radio programs you can download. Check them out at The Scalawag Show with Barnacle Brian.

Pogues remastered, expanded versions.
I have been listening a lot to the new versions of Rum, Sodomy & The Lash and Red Roses For Me. They are both well worth the price for the extra tracks and the remastering. Pogues fans should shell out the cash.

Welcome.
Just for fun and hopefully donations, I will be posting occasional opinions and reviews of bands, concerts, and cd's that can be described as Celt-rock, Celt-punk, and/or pirate music here.
I'll start by posting this link to the MySpace Music site of my friends and favourite local Irish pirate drinking music band, Cutthroat Shamrock. I hope you like them. They have four tracks for streaming or download. They play out a lot around Knoxville, TN, Gatlinburg,TN and sometimes in other states, like the recent Asheville, NC show. They have a studio cd and some live bootlegs out, all of which are excellent. In the Knoxville area, you can get them at Cat's or Disc Exchange, or for a few bucks less at a Cutthroat Shamrock show.
